Yoho National Park, BC — camping & booking
- Reservable — Kicking Horse, Takakkaw Falls (walk-in, tents only), Monarch (FCFS in shoulder season)
- First-come, first-served — Hoodoo Creek
Lake O'Hara is a special case: no private vehicles, so you either hike the 11 km access road or ride the reserved Parks Canada shuttle bus. Both the day-use bus and the campground are allocated by advance reservation / random draw earlier in the year — see Plan a trip to Lake O'Hara.
Hostels
- HI Yoho / Whiskey Jack — temporarily closed for building upgrades; the nearest open hostels are in Banff National Park
Alpine Club of Canada huts
Huts book through the Alpine Club of Canada on a rolling window — six months ahead for members, three for everyone else.
- Lake O'Hara Hut (Elizabeth Parker) — at Lake O'Hara, and allocated by the same winter lottery as the campground
- Little Yoho Valley Hut (Stanley Mitchell) — Little Yoho, from Takakkaw Falls
The Wapta Icefield huts sit on this park's northern boundary but are reached from the Icefields Parkway — see Icefields Parkway and the Columbia Icefield.
These campgrounds are also the practical basecamp for Golden, which has none of its own — see Rogers Pass, the Selkirks, and Golden.
